No movie has had such a profound impact on American culture than "Deliverance." Not only did it lauch the careers of four relatively unknown actors, but it also changed what young folks did for fun. Before Deliverance, the great outdoors was considered to be the realm of Boy Scouts, deer hunters, and park rangers. Overnight, it became cool for guys to ask gals to go hiking, camping or canoeing for a date. Outdoor recreation shops sprang up around the country. This form of recreation had primarily been confined to the Boy Scouts section of Sears-Roebuck department stores. Tourism exploded in mountainous areas around the United States. It has been forty years since the filming of Deliverance. See if you remember any trivia from this unexpected blockbuster!
